Brief
How can we improve the heart health of people in Europe that are ‘invisible’, neglected, underserved, forgotten or overlooked?
Process
The whole challenge was over 5 months and sectioned into 4 phases of the design methodology (Identify, Discover, Define, Develop)For each phase, we had to submit a hero image which showed our main findings in one picture, a video which is basically the storytelling of the whole findings in each phase and lastly a PDF with all information needed to clarify our project.

Identify
It was our task to research, interview and identify a target group for our project. After researching we found out that heart diseases either come from nicotine, alcohol or obesity. We then identified, when kids are obese, they are 5 to 10 times more likely to be obese when they are older and thus we decided to tackle and fight against the obesity of children.
Children from 8-12 years old is the age group who have the highest increase in obesity and society in the last ten years.
Discover
At this stage we discovered everything about children obesity and their daily journey.
Read more detailed about our exploration and how we identified our target group here.
Define
To better understand the children's day to day life we brainstormend and put all our ideas together.
With the method of the 5Why's and the Mix and Match we then came to several ideas for our ideation phase.
Learn more about the whole process here.
Develop
Yeaaah. My favorite part. Ideate, Develop and Implement the idea.
After all the research, interviews and findings we decided to go with - yummeals. A healthy cook box for children. With some games and a story behind the recipe we designed a healthy cook box for children. Kids get the chance to cook their meals themselves/ with the help of their parents and get to know what they eat. We even tried them with children from different cultures of the age group between 8-12 years old. They looooooved it !
We finished with two prototypes. One for the yummeal box and one is the user interface for the whole app behind it.
See the whole process here and discover the journey of yummeal.
Results
Yes, we created a few healthy recipes and identified that the kids love it.
If you want to have a look at one of the recipes; check it out!
We also created some information cards for the box, so the kids knwo what they eat is good for.
